A COMMUNITY SERVICE MESSAGE
"Promoting A Tradition of Self-discovery through Character Building, Self-esteem, Confidence and Expression"
Growing up or living in today's world is a real challenge amidst the looming and real threat of HIV/AIDS and substance abuse. MOTHERLAND, INC. has embarked on a mission to educate persons and communities at risk of these diseases with life-long consequences. As a non-profit counseling therapeutic organization, MOTHERLAND, INC. believes that the global and local campaigns against HIV/AIDS and substance abuse must reflect the urgency and severity of the crisis.
MOTHERLAND INC. provides HIV/AIDS and substance abuse services to at-risk populations in the Greater Houston Area and the surrounding counties. Its program activities prominently features therapeutic drama. MOTHERLAND, INC. uses drama to promote knowledge, awareness, self-empowerment, responsibility and hope. Its program reaches the schools, safe houses, correctional institutions, churches, business organizations, community-based organizations, residential facilities, and health-related facilities.
MOTHERLAND, INC. is committed to a campaign against HIV/AIDS in Sub-Saharan Africa. At the end of 2001, UNAIDS estimated that 40,000 adults and children in Cameroon were living with HIV/AIDS; 52,000 died of AIDS (for a total of 340,000 since the beginning of the epidemic), and 181,344 children have been orphaned by AIDS. Faced with such grim statistics, MOTHERLAND, INC. invites you and other friends of Cameroon to join its efforts to develop and implement specifically designed intervention programs. With your support we can work in synergy to arrest the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa.
